The connection with the neighboring towns is made via the county road DJ 576, which provides the connection between the township and the other localities in Dolj County. The township took its name from an innkeeper lady, namely \u201cGheorghi\u0163a\u201d and the village of Curm\u0103tura took its name from a nearby hill. A document dated 18th of May 1622 states that the village of Giurgi\u021ba was the property of Hamza, Craiovei\u2019s Ban. Port\u0103re\u0219ti is a village gathered on the left bank of Desn\u0103\u0163ui known since 1790 when it appears on the map of the Austrian Specht.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p><strong>Identification data:<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The Town Hall of Giurgi\u021ba is located on DN 561, on Str. Calea Dun\u0103rii, nr. 123, Giurgi\u021ba Township, Dolj County<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p><strong>Points of interest:<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>- The Old School<\/strong> of Giurgi\u021ba is located at the \u201cGreat Road\u201d in 1838 between Cioromela and Giurgi\u021ba. It is built of brick and maintained by the state with qualified teacher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>- The Church \u201eSt. Michael and Gabriel\u201d <\/strong>belongs to the Parish of Port\u0103re\u0219ti - Giurgi\u021ba and was built of wood in 1827 by the bakers Matei and Spiridon Port\u0103rascu. In 1852 it was built from the foundation of brick and in 1913 and 1957 it was tied in iron belts and repainted.<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>- The Church of \u201eSaint Mary\u201d <\/strong>in Curm\u0103tura was started by the inhabitants of the village of Giurgi\u021ba - Curm\u0103tura in 1852 and finished in 1856.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote
