C\u0103l\u0103ra\u0219i township, a border town, is located on the left bank of the Danube River, in the Romana\u0163i Plain, in a plain area covered with sand dunes, and the administrative territory of C\u0103l\u0103ra\u0219i township is crossed by the national road DN 54A (C\u0103l\u0103ra\u0219i - Corabia). The township consists of 2 villages: C\u0103l\u0103ra\u0219i \u2013 the township residence village and S\u0103rata. The territorial administrative unit has an area of 8774 ha, and a population of 5921. C\u0103l\u0103ra\u0219i Township was first established by the Administrative Law of 1864, and over time had in its composition the following villages: C\u0103l\u0103ra\u0219i, Ascunsa (1864-1873), C\u0103l\u0103ra\u0219i (1873-1912), C\u0103l\u0103ra\u0219i, S\u0103rata (1912-to present).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p><strong>Identification data:<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>C\u0103l\u0103ra\u0219i Town Hall is located on DN 54A on Petre Bani\u021b\u0103 Street Nr. 148 Dolj County<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p><strong>Points of interest:<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; <strong>The Church, St. Nicholas, and the \u201eAssumption of Mary\u201d in C\u0103l\u0103ra\u0219i<\/strong> has more than 100 years old, being built in brick by Hagi Enu\u0219i in 1820-1833.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>- The drinking fountain dedicated to Maria T\u0103nase <\/strong>was built in 1996, being one of Maria T\u0103nase\u2019s last wishes: \u201cIf it is possible and will not be difficult, I would like that on a dry and eager for water road to make a fountain\u201d <strong>&#8220;Dac\u0103&nbsp;se va putea&nbsp;\u015fi nu va fi greu, a\u015f&nbsp;vrea ca pe un drum secetos&nbsp;\u015fi dornic de ap\u0103&nbsp;s\u0103&nbsp;se fac\u0103&nbsp;o&nbsp;f\u00e2nt\u00e2n\u0103&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>- White drinking fountain <\/strong>was built in 1831 by the priest Stan C\u0103l\u0103r\u0103\u015fanu, from the former draw-well (the Fountain of the Greek), which became the \u201ctreasury\u201d of the drinking fountain (its water basin). From this year a stone that is written in Cyrillic letters: \u201cMade by Popa Stan C\u0103l\u0103r\u0103\u015fanu in 1831 for the sanctification of the fruit of the vineyards\u201d is kept here. Every 1st of February (after the old calendar), on St. Trifon, the inhabitants of C\u0103l\u0103ra\u0219i gather at the drinking fountain with wine flasks and food and party for the fruition of the vineyards. The traditional celebration was preserved until after the First World War (1938).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>- The 32 springs <\/strong>are located in the area called \u201cAscunsa\u201d. At its base is the Fountain with 32 outfalls, being one of the most powerful springs in the Oltenia Plain. This spring was used to irrigate the gardens and to set in motion the wheels of the water mills. Here, at Ascunsa there are two large water reservoirs that irrigated the fruit trees of the Bechet-C\u0103l\u0103ra\u0219i Experimental Resort, currently S.C.D.C.P.N.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p><strong>Other information:<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p><strong>Personalities:<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&#8211;<\/strong> <strong>Gil Dobric\u0103 <\/strong>was born 14th of February 1946 in C\u0103l\u0103ra\u0219i.
